Leap Day Open Mic

This is the recording of our weekly open mic. Tonight we got to hear from Alyssa Ingersoll, Vinny Labrador, Steve Jordan, Scott Davis, Adam Shults, and a few others. Nice night of music! Note that after Alyssa plays, there's a long break while we get some acts together. This is one of those times I wish we could edit the recorded stream. Zoom ahead fifteen or twenty minutes to get to the rest of the music, it's worth hearing, for sure.

Alyssa Ingersoll

Alyssa is our featured performer this coming Saturday, August 11. Our local paper, the South Whidbey Record, recently featured her in an article, here.

Alyssa is the host or our Friday Open Mics. We get a lot of chances to hear her music, and we never tire of her.

You can find several videos of her from Rockhoppers on Google video, here. Don't miss the opportunity to see her in person.

Music is always great at Rockhoppers Coffeehouse and Folk Art Gallery in Clinton, on Whidbey Island.

Alyssa and Rena

Alyssa Ingersoll and Rena Edelen performed for us this Saturday. Alyssa has a wonderful voice, and Rena is a talented performer. They had some rythym help on one of their songs. :) Here's a couple more videos: #1 #2

Friday Open Mic

We had another fun open mic on Friday. Alyssa Ingersoll and Will Jobsen were both here, so we had wonderful music. Alyssa and her mom, Rena, are performing here tonight. I think it will be a nice show. Will played beautifully, as always. We had a little difficulty with our PA system, Will may have been too much for it. :) Actually, I think the master volume control is going out -- I'll ask Mary Wood if she wants to fix it, or if I should take it back to Guitar Center. I read from "Birds, Beasts, and Relatives", by Gerald Durrell, as usual. This week, the family had some oddd guests at 2:00am. If you aren't coming to our open mic, you're missing a nice experience.

Friday's Open Mic

Note that this post is by Dan. Rene is so busy that I do most of the videography, and posting of videos, so I have my own account to do that. I have also been hosting our Friday open mic's, because of Rene having to manage the bingo games at the Clinton Community Hall for the Progressive Club. We didn't have too many people for open mic this Friday, but boy, did we have some amazing music. Alyssa Ingersoll played and sang -- she has a fantastic voice! Her mother, Rena Edelen, an old hand at the coffeehouse scene, also entertained us. The two of them teamed up on a wide selection of folk classics. It was a lovely evening. I joined Alyssa and Rena for one of my favorite songs: "Long Black Veil" Here's the video.
