One thing about small-town theaters, we often get films months after they've been released. Four Christmases is one of those -- a holiday film, released for Thanksgiving, that reaches us in January. It's just as well, though, since this film doesn't so much promote holiday spirit as lampoon Christmas with the family.
There's nothing particularly wrong with the film, in fact the acting is just fine, if not exactly inspired. The script is kind of choppy, and the characters are predictably over-the-top. The soundtrack is unmemorable, which is a crime for a holiday movie! Overall, I hjavascript:void(0)ave to give this one a Shot in the Dark. It's not a bad film, but not a great one, either.
