Veteran's Day

My co-blogger Mary, her husband, and I are all veterans. Both my sons are also veterans, as is my father. This is an important holiday for me -- I'm sad that none of the civilian companies I've worked for since I left the military recognize Veteran's Day as a holiday. I am traveling today for work, and expect to see little in the way of recognition of today's special meaning.

Considering we're at war in two countries, the apathy towards this important holiday doesn't seem right. Neither does the way the current administration supports (or doesn't support) our military except rhetorically.

Happy Veteran's Day, and thank you to all my fellow veterans.

Technically, I'm not a veteran. Damn close though.

You will be soon enough, David.
My Father and both brothers are Veterans, as is my husband, and a number of his uncles. Most everyone I work with is a veteran, as well! There are a lot of us around!
