
The New York Times has a great article about the Clover coffee machine, and the Japanese siphon system. The Japanese siphon, above, costs $20,000, but they won't sell you one unless you prove to them you are serious. Note that these are not used for espresso -- it's basically drip coffee!

The Clover system is only $11,000, and according to the calculator on their website, we would start making money immediately. Still, I don't think we'll be getting one of these anytime soon, but it goes to show that people are passionate about their coffee.
In other news, Starbucks is trialing a small $1.00 drip coffee in some of it's stores.
