Last night we went to see Enchanted at the Oak Harbor Cinema 3. I've complained before about this theatre, so it will come as no surprise that I had issue with their presentation. This time the bottom of the screen was in focus, while the top half was slightly out of focus. How does this happen? Very odd. I won't be going back to this theatre anytime soon.
The movie, however, was very good. This is a Disney movie like Disney used to make movies. It was delightful, timeless, and very well acted and filmed. The good guys were good, the bad guys were bad, the magic was palpable, etc.
The movie doesn't quite make a double shot, I think because of editing. It's a PG film, and I suspect the producers wanted the movie to be shorter than even it's current 1 hr, 45 min length, to keep the kiddies in their seats. There are some continuity jumps in the last third of the movie. Otherwise it's a fine film, very sweet, suitable for anyone, and should be seen in a (decent) theatre.
Enchanting movies on Whidbey Island.
