The Entire works of Shakespeare done in one night!

so Dan and I decide to take the night off last night. First let me say that this was not a great choice of nights. For one thing, I forgot that there was a small group that had actually scheduled to meet in our meeting room. Fortunately the woman who scheduled to meeting is a friend and has run a restaurant before so I felt reasonably good leaving her with all the info of how to lock up the shop and since we would be coming back by the shop later that evening I felt OK about leaving it in her care. She did awesome in locking it up and everything was great except I felt awful about leaving. It is amazing how when you have gone for a whole year and a half and not gotten a decent day of business on Wednesdays or Thursdays during that entire year that as soon as you decide to change your hours to reflect when people have been using your establishment they decide to change their time of need too. Anyway, after much deliberation we have decided to change the hours of Rockhoppers. We will be open Monday and Tuesdays from 10:00AM to 10:00PM. We will close on Wednesdays and Thursdays (I cant wait!! Yahoooo 2 days off a week!!) and we will be open Fridays from 10:00AM to 10:00PM. Saturdays we will open at 7:00AM for breakfasts..and close at 10:00PM Sundays we will open at 7:00AM and close at 4:00PM. We will serve breakfasts on Sundays as well as Saturday. This is a huge jump for us and we have our fingers crossed that it will work out OK. If not, expect another schedule change in the future.

Anyway, Erik Christensen (one of our featured musicians) was in this Shakespeare play called The Complete Works of Shakespeare, abridged. It was a parody (duh!) and absolutely hilarious! The cast was comprised of three actors. And yes to a degree they did all of Shakespeare's works. Sorta! Well kinda! Well.....OK they had some of the words used from all of the works in the abbreviated version presented last night. They also had football, sword play, singing, a lot of yelling, improv and just plain laughter! It was a terrific way to spend the night and the acting was awesome. It was performed in Anacortes at the community theater and it was even a treat just to be able to go and see it since it took an hour and half to get there.

My recommendation is that if you get the opportunity to see this play at a local playhouse, go see it. It is a great evening out.

Well the bed is getting done. I had hoped to finish it today but the paint is taking forever to dry! High humidity does that and then the painting is completely different on wood than on canvas but it is almost there. I am hoping to add the light tonight or tomorrow and finish the feet then Monday do the gloss and it will be ready to go. I hope. It truly does depend on how high the humidity. Thankfully there is no paper mache to do on it! Also Dan showed it to the owner today under not great lighting and well Kit... you need to see it in the light! I promise it is much brighter! I will get a picture of it when it is finished and post it.

I guess that is about all for today but if you can enjoy what is left of summer. It seems fall is quickly coming up and with it comes a faster pace of life. Have a good one.
