Dave Trampier is a former artist and writer who worked on some of the earliest editions of the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. He is best known as the creator of the Wormy comic strip that ran in The Dragon magazine starting with issue #9. There is a (sometimes incomplete) archive of the strip online here, and if you really, really want to see the artwork, I could dig up some of my old copies of The Dragon.
The Dragon issue #132 of April, 1988 was the last with a Wormy cartoon -- the strip stopped abruptly in the middle of the storyline, and Dave Trampier mysteriously disappeared. He briefly popped back into public notice in 2002, as a taxi driver in Carbondale, Illinois, but has repeatedly asked to be left alone, and is clearly not interested in gaming or comic art any more.
Comics about Whidbey Island.
