Every month Rockhoppers hosts the Whidbey Writers Association open house. We're open every Tuesday for the writers cafe, but the first Tuesday is a special occasion. Today the program features Deb Lund, who has a new children's book: Monsters on Machines. We recorded two videos, the first is Deb reading her books, with help from some awfully cute kids -- including my grandson.
The next video features Deb and her husband, Karl Olsen (the newest member of The Brothers Four).
We love having our writers visit every month! We're so lucky to have such interesting people frequent our little shop. As a thank you, here's some great reference material for writers: The 50 Best Websites for Writers. Huh -- they left out Rockhoppers.... (Found at The Presurfer)

Tom Trimbath read from the introduction to his book '12 Months at Merritt Lake'. We still have a signed copy here, and in our Amazon Store. We can also get a copy inscribed for you, if you like.
Diane Watts talked about her design process for literary quilts. Quite interesting!

We hosted this month's Whidbey Island Writers Association open house. We had a little storytelling and other 'open mic' type activities, plus we had the live cam on for eavesdropping. It was a nice turnout, and we expect to continue these formal events the first Tuesday of every month.
Every Tuesday afternoon is now writers day at Rockhoppers. We'll have the mic on if someone wants to read a story, we can of course record those presentations also. Rockhoppers wants to be the writers 'clubhouse', someplace they can feel at home and get together.
Jill Johnson shared a nice story, here's the recording:
Write on, Whidbey Island!
