Ok it has been a while since I posted. I am frantically working on an altered jacket that has embroidery, crochet, lace work, macramé, bead work and cut work on it not to mention crewel work and some quilting. It is altered from a men's sport coat and at the rate I am finishing it I will have it done sometime around Christmas. I will post pics of it tomorrow since I don't have a before pic of it. I should have one that at least you can imagine what the coat looked like! Anyway, I am working on a pair of boots to alter and a purse to alter. While the boots do not fit me the purse will work wonderfully! I have several pieces of clothing I really want to alter to fit me and several that I just want to alter period. When all of them are done it is my intention to have a fashion show and I am looking for artists of all kinds who would like to participate in the fashion show. I wont hold it till Jan or Feb but I am really kind of getting into the mode for this. I will be putting up posters this next week looking for people who want to participate.
I am also getting ready to start scheduling things for the days again. I really have wanted some day things for a while so I am back to asking people... Do you know of any one who wants to teach bridge or any groups that want to play bridge and need a location? Is there anyone out there that is interested in pinochle or scrabble? or cards? I would love art classes, and knitting and crocheting classes as well as discussion groups and groups that want to talk about current events. So if you are interested in any thing like this please give me a call and lets see what we can do.
I have gotten a little bad news this last week. Anthony Easterwood will not be here this Saturday to entertain us. He canceled his gig and it is my hope we can get him here later this month or next month. We will however be serving a roast beef dinner this weekend. So if anyone would like a nice dinner out and is interested in a fun evening without the entertainment then please RSVP so I know how many will be here.
In the meantime I have posted a new calendar for you and you can expect the days will be filled in soon as I have events to schedule.
NEXT SATURDAY WE WILL BE HOSTING SISTER MONK HAREM AT 8:00PM. Dinner will precede it and we will be having turkey with all the fixins since there are some of us who don't want to wait till Nov. I will be making my own special stuffing for those of you who have had it on our day after Christmas party so RSVP.
September events at Rockhoppers on Whidbey Island.

Hi, Rene,
SEKK is scheduled for the third Tuesdays again this year, 10-12. Okay?
AND---five of us have formed a group which sings a mix of folk, gospel, bluegrass, and oldies (yes, quite a mix!). We are performing at the Hunger Awareness Day this Saturday morning at Bayview's Good Cheer center, from 11-12:30.
And we would be available to sing at Rockhoppers one of these days, if you're interested!
