My favorite photojournalist, Ziboy, is a Chinese native. He's been educated in the US recently, and I noticed that his photos were less interesting to me -- because they show places and situations I'm familiar with. His photos from China are consistently interesting, though.
He's recently been photographing the Olympics. For a different viewpoint than what you'll see on the national chains, head over to Ziboy's blog, and take a look. I was particularly interested in the huge McDonalds.
