An Afternoon at the Theatre

Aida

Yesterday was a delightful day. A friend had invited my husband and I to go to the theatre. We went to see AIDA at the Village Theatre in Everett, WA. What a wonderful production! The Sets, while minimal, beautifully conveyed the scenes. The acting was excellent and the singing, oh my! Everyone, from the principals to the chorus, had beautiful voices and blended so well with each other. Of course the music written by Elton John, with words by Tim Rice, was a delight to hear. In Sunday’s production the understudy, Jessica Skerrit, played the part of Amneris and did a wonderful job. The part of Aida was played by Marliss Amiea and Radames was played by Michael Murnoch. When the three were onstage together it was electrifying! Aida

Of course I cannot leave out the dancing, which combined with all the rest made for an enchanting afternoon! If you’re in Everett, do stop by the Village Theatre and see Aida. The show runs through the 27th of July. Call the Box Office at (425) 257-8600 or go to www.villagetheatre.org . You won’t regret it! Give this one a Double shot! Double Shot

An enslaved Nubian princess. A privileged daughter of an Egyptian Pharaoh. The soldier they both love. And a love triangle that could alter history forever. Based on Giuseppe Verdi's classic opera, Elton John and Tim Rice's Tony and Grammy-winning pop-rock powerhouse turns the legendary tale of AIDA into an exhilarating and rousing musical event. Bursting with energy and teeming with vibrant song and dance, AIDA is an epic tale of loyalty, betrayal, and forbidden love you will never forget.
