We've only been to see a couple of 'live' nativity scenes. There was one in Ohio that had everything including a camel. We didn't know that our 11-year old son was deathly afraid of camels, honest. That was not a pleasant expedition.
It seems that these spectacles can be quite a problem for churches. Here's a news item on the practice that caught my eye.
