I don't think it's too early to start promoting the 2010 Olympics, just up the road in Vancouver, Canada. Last month the officials unveiled the mascots for the games.
Sumi is an animal spirit with the hat of an orca, legs of a bear, and wings of the mythical thunderbird. He lives at Whistler, the mountain site of many of the events, and likes to drink hot cocoa.
Miga is a snowboarding sea bear -- part orca, part rare white Kermode bear. She likes salmon and dreams of landing a corked 720 in the half-pipe.
Quatchi is a clumsy young sasquatch who loves to play hockey. He's an avid traveler whose hobby is photography.
Not mentioned on the Olympics site is Mukmuk, a marmot sidekick for the mascots.
Come to Whidbey Island for the Olympics.
