Coming Soon to Rockhoppers

So we have a wonderful group coming to entertain us this weekend. You can catch them at http://www.bardsofthekoad.com
If you enjoy rousing eclectic music then you will love this group! Plus they are really neat people!
The Bards of the Koad were formed in the early fall of 2001. The "Koad" (pronounced KO-ad) is a sanctuary of learning and magick, traditionally where Druids would study their craft. We gather together and celebrate the sacred, to increase our knowledge of music and of the Gods in a safe, loving environment. The group continued to grow through 2002. In the summer, Teresa joined the Bards, bringing her haunting dusky voice and talent for creating harmonies. Cerrigan brought a beautiful, clear soprano voice and a great ear for harmony. . The group consists of Paula, Teresa, Cerrigan and Michael. Paula has performed in various musical productions throughout her life including "Bye, Bye Birdie", "The Wizard of Oz", "Music Man", "Once Upon a Mattress", and "Gypsy." She's competed in vocal competitions. The creation of the Bards of the Koad has been a key aspect to her musical, personal, and spiritual growth. She looks forward to continuing her journey with the Bards for many years to come. Teresa grew up in Illinois, and has always had a great love for music. She spent all of her school years in choirs. Even before she found her spiritual path, Teresa has always known music to be a very magical and healing tool. If she is not singing, she finds some way to surround herself in music and song. When Cerrigan was young and carefree she believed that singing meant all good things would happen: The sky would turn blue and the sun would always shine. This in itself was quite imaginative as she was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Now that she is older and wiser, she raises her voice to the moon and the stars and knows that singing simply brings her joy. Michael is an amazing musician. Give the man an instrument and within 5 minutes he will be playing it. Mike is one of the founding members of the Bards. He plays both 6 and 12 string guitar, cittern, various drums, the penny whistle as needed and pretty much whatever is needed. He is one of the main composers for the band, contributing "Green," "Be With Me," and "Right Now" to the Bards which are used in their standard performing sets. Michael also performs in two other blues bands. One of those bands, MSM will be performing at Rockhoppers next month.
